Men’s Barong · By Fabric
The groom’s fabric. Heavier weight, quiet luster, holds a sharp silhouette under any light. When everyone else is in organza, cocoon does the visual hierarchy work — no extra detail required.
It’s the standard recommendation for the groom because it visually anchors a wedding photo, but cocoon also reads beautifully on the father of the groom or any solo formal portrait. For full entourages, most parties stay in organza for breathability and budget — and put the groom in cocoon to draw the eye.
Smoother and more substantial than organza, with a soft hand. It’s woven heavier so it doesn’t cling, and the natural fibers breathe better than synthetic silk. Most grooms wear an undershirt as the cultural standard regardless of fabric — keeps the barong clean across long ceremonies.
For wedding wear, yes — we recommend dry cleaning to preserve the luster and the embroidery. For occasional wear, a cool spot clean and air dry is fine. Always store flat or on a wide-shouldered hanger to keep the silhouette intact.
