The one rule
US Sizing Chart
Our sizes follow the US chart — not the Philippine chart. If you order Medium in Manila, you’re likely a US Small here. This single conversion is the most common reason barongs arrive feeling tight. Use the chart below or follow the chest measurement directly.

| L | 41–43 | 104–109 | XL |
| XL | 44–46 | 112–117 | 2XL |
| XXL | 47–49 | 119–124 | 3XL |
| 3XL | 50–52 | 127–132 | 4XL |
| 4XL | 53–55 | 135–140 | 5XL |
| 5XL | 56–58 | 142–147 | 6XL |
Chest measurements are bare-chest. The +4” drape allowance is already built into every size. Our traditional cut is generous, so if you’re between sizes, most customers are happiest with the smaller size.

Frequently asked
Why does Filipino sizing run smaller than US sizing?
Different baseline body sizes across the two markets — sizing charts are calibrated to typical wear in each. A Manila clothing manufacturer making Mediums for the local market is fitting a different average body than a US shop. We adjusted our chart to the US baseline so American shoppers don’t have to do the math.
Do you carry extended sizes (3X, 4X, 5X)?
Our white organza barong carries 3X and 4X. Other fabrics in 3X+ are limited — check the size dropdown on the specific product page. If a size isn’t there, it’s currently out of stock; restocks happen periodically. For a guaranteed 3X+ in any specific fabric, send a Wedding Inquiry with the fabric and size and we’ll confirm before you commit.
What if I’m an unusual proportion (broad-shouldered + narrow waist, long torso, etc.)?
Size to your chest first — that’s what determines whether the barong reads “fit” in photos. Shoulder, sleeve, and length are secondary and easier to alter post-purchase if needed. See our Measurement Studio for body-type-specific guidance.
Can I tailor a barong after purchase?
Yes, easily. Most US tailors can take in the sides, shorten sleeves, or hem the length. The traditional barong is loose-cut by design, so taking IN is straightforward; letting OUT is harder because of the embroidery placement. Between sizes? The generous cut means the smaller size usually fits best, and a tailor can always fine-tune from there.
What’s the right size for a wedding entourage?
Same chart applies. For a wedding party of 3+ matched pieces, send everyone’s chest measurements via Wedding Inquiry and we’ll size each piece individually. Don’t have everyone’s exact measurements yet? Tell us approximate US shirt sizes and we’ll size accordingly, with the option to swap any size after delivery within 30 days.
